The Mammoth Mountain Ski Area is a large ski resort located in eastern California on the east side of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in the Inyo National Forest. The ski area, known simply as Mammoth, has the best terrain park according to Transworld Snowboarding Magazine, and is consistently ranked in the top ten ski resorts by Ski Magazine.
There are 26 Ski Lifts on the mountain servicing over 150 Ski Trails covering over 3500 acres of skiable area. With 400+ inches of snow a year and an average of about 300 days of sunshine, Mammoth is usually the first ski resort to open in California and the last one to close.
